Bodies of Creation

House of Fluid Reflections, where creation moves through many bodies. Every discipline we engage is a different body carrying the same inquiry: the body in motion, the body of written words, the body of images and strokes, the body of sound, and the composite body where they all meet. Each one looks and feels different, yet they all follow the same question about what it means to create, to be alive, to become, and to remember who we are.

The Sonic Body

— music, singing, spoken word and vibrations

GRYSKLL was three songs deep into a mini project called Project 2025 before it was cancelled. What didn't get shut down was the reason those songs got made in the first place. That and the need for more like them.

For close to a year after the last election, it seemed like something had silently shifted in everyone. Family, work, the news cycle, all of it sitting heavier than usual. Nobody wanted to keep talking about it, so mostly, they didn't.

Recognizing this made way for the project that looked like it was going to be abandoned to be revived with new purpose. We used the Creative Wellness practices we've been somewhat subconsciously developing thanks in part to GRYSpace.Understanding how to use music for healing has been helping us process what had been bottled up so we can better meet the moment.

Killa Bee Movie

Act III. In progress. In public. The craft, the community, the cost.

A Wu-Tang Killa Bee from Colorado to The DMV. Co-founder of Tha Beggas (aka The Beggaz), a collective whose song "On the Strength" appeared on the gold-certified compilation RZA Presents: Wu-Tang Killa Bees - The Swarm Vol. 1. A man who found a legacy, lost his mentor, lost himself, and spent decades clawing his way back.

Near death. Reborn through art. Especially hip-hop.

FlashbaXe

An ode to Shaah’s 90s alias, Short aXe. The rhyme style he was developing for that character was based on short creative lines that skipped through topics. The footage of FlashbaXe does the same thing, nonlinear, associative, jumping across years and moments the way his mind actually moves.
