The Image of Intercourse

An intersection between collaboration and self reflection, each painting is a joint expression with layers from each of us. The photos are a curated collection of shots from each of our portfolios.

Look under the bench and become a part of the exhibit!

We’ve discovered that painting is mediation in motion for us, which has provided opportunity for introspection, self study & healing. We co-curated the collection as a means to introduce ourselves to the local art scene.

“Beauty lays in the eye of the beholder,” is the sentiment that echos throughout our collection. Each of the paintings were started by Shaah and somewhere along his creative process, he fell out of love with them and they landed in the “scrap/repaint” pile. I (Yani) caught wind of this pile and fell in love with many of the pieces. Shaah gave me the green light to try out any new life I saw possible in these pieces and thus this collection was born. I played with the new line art style I’ve been developing for almost a year now and it was as if we were wed all over again. We looked at these new pieces in awe yet again the power of our love and union.
